Hi 6th Graders!
What a crazy day last Thursday was. I was so sad I had to leave without saying goodbye. My baby just wanted to come 19 days early :) While you were in computer class, I started going into labor, so         Dr. Hagstrom had to take me to the hospital, and Rush was born shortly after.

He is doing great, and would love to meet you all in the upcoming months. Luckily, the 6th grade teachers are all wonderful, so you are all in good hands!
I am thinking of all of you, and I want to wish you the best for a wonderful 6th grade year. You are such a magnificent group of students. I was blessed that I got the opportunity to teach you for a month, and I am thinking of you constantly!

Enjoy some pictures!

Welcome!

Welcome to the sixth grade!  My name is Mrs. Purdy, and I will be your scholar’s 6th grade teacher this year. I am looking forward to getting to know you and your children.  I hope that throughout the year we can keep the lines of communication open.  I do provide students and families with my email address so that you can contact me about homework or other concerns.
On this website, I will post information about homework, field trips, and any special projects we have. I know that the child’s health, academic, and social development are parents’ primary concerns. Please feel free to email me regarding questions about curriculum, discipline, or any other concerns.

Homework
Your scholar must complete the Nightly Reading and Writing assignment every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Children will also receive math homework each evening. At times, children will be asked to complete special projects at home.  The attached sheet explains Nightly Reading and Writing in greater detail. If your child has an unexcused absence, late homework will not be accepted for credit. If your child is sick, or a family emergency strikes, please take a minute to write me a quick note, or email me. I do understand that “things come up.” If I do not receive a note or a call, I will assume that you are unaware of the incomplete work, and I will contact you.

You will be receiving several informational notes this week regarding curriculum and policies. Thanks in advance for returning Lunch forms, Emergency forms, and our Mutual Agreements. I look forward to a productive year and to meeting you all. I hope to challenge the minds of your scholars and expand their abstract thinking skills. Thank you again for your support.

Sincerely yours,

Mrs. Purdy
